BHN Brinell Hardness Number Test
BHN is the numerical value assigned to the hardness of alloys and metals.
The testing is to determining the hardness of a metal by pressing a steel ball of a standard size into the metal using a standard force.
Formula:
Brinell Hardness Number = (2*P)/[(pi*D)(D - sqrt(D2-d2))]
Where
P = Load in Kilogram Force
D = Steel Ball Diameter in millimeter
d = Depression Diameter in millimeter
The Brinell Hardness Number (BHN) is also known as HB.
