The tiles calculator will compute how many tiles are needed for given tile size and area. It will estimate how many tiles to buy by calculating the total floor area to be cover and dividing that number by the size of one tile.
Example:
Actual room size: 10 ft x 12 ft = 120 ft2
The tiles size : 6 in x 6 in = 36 in2 = 0.25 ft2
The number of tiles Needed = (Actual room size) / (The tiles size)
The number of tiles Needed = 120/0.25 = 480
Estimating tile quantities
We must include the waste factor 10-15% that may vary based upon tile size, layout, configuration of room, patterns, etc.
Formula measuring the floor area for tiles = Length x Width + Waste = Area Needed(Area-size)
